Todd Quoted in Fast Company on "How to Make the Most of Your Temp Gig"

How To Make The Most Out Of Your Temp Gig
Working a temporary job this summer? Here's how to make it count before your time's up.

They may not be glamorous, they probably won’t be easy, and they might not pay very well, but temp jobs can—and do—lead to successful careers in rewarding fields of work. Just ask Todd Cherches, CEO and cofounder of BigBlueGumball, a New York City–based career consulting, training, and coaching firm:

After graduating from college, I got into the temp pool at Walt Disney Studios in LA. After a series of eight different weeklong temp jobs, the last one led to an amazing full-time assistant-level job in comedy development working for a writer/producer.

Just because you’re not on the permanent payroll doesn’t mean you can’t reap big benefits from a summer temp gig. You just have to put in the effort and treat your temporary job like it’s the dream job you’re hoping for.

Todd Wins 2016 NYU Teaching Excellence Award

At the annual NYU School of Professional Studies faculty awards celebration held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, Todd was presented with the prestigious 2016 "Teaching Excellence Award" as one of the top professors in their Division of Programs in Business.

Here he proudy receives his award from the school's Dean, Dennis Di Lorenzo.

"The NYU Teaching Excellence Award is presented to faculty members whose deep concern for student growth and development is supported by: a record of outstanding effectiveness in teaching; a capacity for challenging, inspiring, and supporting students to set high goals and succeed in achieving them; an approach to the art and science of pedagogy that is innovative, rigorous, creative, and engaging; and a consistent practice of integrating new scholarly/professional work into the classroom in a way that embodies and encourages the values of lifelong learning, independent inquiry, and critical thinking."

On the set of "Out of the Office"

As seen here with (from left to right) host Brad Szollose (Liquid Leadership), producer Dennis Phipps (DKP Media), and fellow panelists JP Laqueur (Brand Foundation) and Cynthia Greenawalt (Sea Change Networking), Todd spent the afternoon yesterday shooting the pilot for a new tv show called, “Out of the Office.”

Featuring four consultants with different business orientations, the show is intended to provide a forum for passionate discussion and debate around some of the hottest topics facing the 21st century workplace.

Among the initial subjects explored: What is leadership?; generational differences in the workplace; changing culture; business development; and customer service.

Fingers crossed that it gets picked up!

*But, even if not, it was a great conversation and a fun experience.
